All aboard the nostalgia train! I just found out today that the Cars are releasing their first album in a quarter century. Now every kid has their first "favorite band" and for me, it was the five guys from Boston who first hit the scene back in the late 70's. I got a chance to see them live a couple of times back in the 1980's, including a sold-out show at the old Met Center in 1984.
Kind of an interesting note; the band played their final show together in 1988 before a smattering of fans at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. It was following this less-than-spectacular show that the band decided to cancel the rest of their tour - never to perform again. The Cars will release their new album, Move Like This, in early May. Here's a clip of their first single "Sad Song".
