BEC Fair Changes; Shares Available

MANKATO (TEC News), January 7 – The Blue Earth County Fair Board is slowly moving forward to make some changes.
“We kind of as a board looked at, are we doing what our core mission statement is?”
The board looked at where the fair was in past years and where it is now. Some concluded that moving the fair would be a better option. Matt Little, leader with the Blue Earth County Fair Board, agrees that a move would benefit in more ways than one.
“…absolutely; without a doubt. Just doing the studies and conducting the feasibility tests that are ongoing, it’s showing it.”
The fair board is grateful for Garden City and their sacrifice over the years to keep the show running, but with low numbers and funds not being met, it’s time to make a change. Shares are still being sold for $5 for a chance to vote. Shares can be purchased at Buster's on Madison today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Last minute shares can be purchased at Bethany Lutheran College in the Ron Younge Gym from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. before the voting takes place at 6 p.m. A full podcast of the interview with Matt Little is below along with a rendering of the possible new facility near Mankato.
