MANKATO-September 20, 2012-(KMKO)-A special event to honor veterans is taking place this week in Mankato. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute will bring the traveling Vietnam Wall to help us pay respects to those who served and died in the Vietnam War. The wall was transported from Blue Earth to Mankato yesterday. A group of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans from MSU will assemble it today and a candle light ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm. The wall, which is next to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Stoltzman Road, will be open to the public through Sunday.
