MANKATO-August 28, 2012-(KMKO)-– Despite some objections from taxi cab owners, the Mankato City Council voted 6-1 last night to approve a new ordinance governing the city’s taxis.  The new ordinance does many things, including allowing existing taxi cab companies a limited operation license to operate daily between the hours of 9:00 pm and 3:00 am.  Taxi cab owners say the problem is getting people out of bars at closing time quickly on the weekends.
