MANKATO – Court-ordered psychological exams for two Mankato-area murder defendants have been completed.
Assistant Blue Earth County Attorney Pat McDermott says the confidential psychological report on Jennifer Nibbe was provided to the court today.
Court records indicate that forensic examiner Dr. Jeff Haun conducted the exam on November 22, 2010 at the Blue Earth County Jail.
The next step is a court hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.
A grand jury to consider First Degree Murder charges against the rural Lake Crystal woman had been scheduled to convene on October 4, 2010, but was put on hold pending the results of the psychological exam.
Nibbe is accused of the August 31, 2010 shooting death of her husband James.
In addition, the psychological exam on murder suspect Joel Marvin Munt could be filed with the court as soon as Wednesday, according to McDermott.
Munt is facing murder charges for the March 2010 shooting death of his ex-wife Svetlana in her car in a Mankato park. The couple’s three young children were in the car with their mother when Munt allegedly opened fire.
Munt’s next court appearance is also pending at this time.
