Toward zero death survey

MANKATO-October 31, 2012-(KMKO)--A recent survey conducted by officials with the Toward Zero Deaths campaign shows that seat belt use in the south central area is up 11 percent. A regional baseline rate was calculated at 84.7 percent which reported 73.2 percent last year. The South Central Minnesota TZD was established in early 2011.  Their number one goal is to reduce fatal and serious injuries on roadways using education, enforcement, engineering and emergency services.  Seatbelt use is the single most important pre-crash factor in reducing injury severity.
