MANKATO (TEC News) - Tierre Theo Walton, 23, appeared in Blue Earth County District Court Tuesday for a hearing related to several pending charges. On November 2, 2012, while at Mankato's Roadway Inn, Walton sold a controlled substance, which tested positive for cocaine, to a police officer for the amount of $200. The next day, while at the Kwik Trip gas station along U.S. Highway 169, Walton, again, sold a controlled substance, which tested positive for cocaine, to a female officer for $200. After the sales were completed, Walton was charged with a 3rd-degree controlled substance sale crime for the sale of a narcotic. During Tuesday's hearing, Walton and his attorney informed the court that they had reached an agreement with the prosecuting attorney. If Walton would plead guilty, the 3rd-degree charge would be lowered to the 4th-degree in exchange that Walton serve 34 months in jail and receive credit for 105 days already served. Depending on good behavior, Walton may only have to serve 22 and one-third months. After the completion of a probation worksheet, Walton will be officially sentenced at 2:45 p.m. on June 3.
