About Clay K

 

Clay's broadcasting career began back in 1984 when he was a student at the University of Minnesota-Morris on KUMM, the campus radio station. After transferring the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 1986, he continued to work on-air at both the college station and at KFAI, an independet Minneapolis community supported radio station.

 
     Following graduation in 1989, Clay moved to St. Peter and began working for KRBI AM & FM as a full-time announcer. In the early 90's, in addition to his daily morning show, he became KRBI's Sports Director. Over the next 15 years, Clay broadcast close to 2000 college and high school sporting events including; Gustavus football, men's and women's basketball and hockey, high school football, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' and girls' hockey, wrestling, baseball, softball, volleyball and town-team baseball.
 
    In 2000 KRBI-FM increased its power to 25000 watts and became River 105. Then in 2002 Clay teamed with Hammer to form Hammer & Clay, a morning show that was on the air until 2007. After Hammer left the station, in 2008, Clay became the mid-day announcer on what is now known as 105.5 The Buzzard. In addition to his mid-day show, Clay is also the Production Director for all four of Three Eagles Communications' radio stations in Mankato; Buzzard105, Z99, KYSM Country 103 and 95.7 The Blaze.
