MANKATO – A North Mankato man sought safety from two men trying to rob him inside a passing car last Friday in Mankato.

29-year-old Jason Murphy says he was walking home from River Hills Mall was in the 800 block of Thompson Ravine Road when two men pulled a knife and demanded money.

An unidentified woman driving by around 9:30 p.m. told police a man, later identified as Murphy, jumped into her car saying two people were “trying to kill him.”

They suspects fled on foot.

The suspects were only described as two white males, one with a medium build and one with a smaller build. One was wearing a black windbreaker and blue jeans and the other a grey hooded sweatshirt and a white hat.
