MANKATO – A recent dog attack in Sibley Park has Mankato police and park officials pooch patrol.
Dogs are allowed in many Mankato parks such as Land of Memories, Kiwanis and Rasmussen Woods.
But dogs must be on a leash shorter that 10 feet and be under the control of its owner.
Dogs are not allowed at all in both Sibley Park or Riverfront Park.
According to the city of Mankato's website, dogs are allowed on the walking/biking trails and in the following parks: F.A. Buscher, Erlandson, Highland, the Kiwanis Recreation Area, Land of Memories Park and Lions Park, which features special parks for dogs.
Dogs are also allowed at Premier Pond and Rasmussen Woods and need to be on a leash.
Otherwise, pets are prohibited in Mankato's parks.
