MANKATO – If state government shuts down on Friday, Mankato City Manager Pat Hentges says how it will affect city operations will largely depend upon the length of the shutdown.
Because the city draws down funding over the course of a month, a shutdown of a few days or a couple weeks won’t be an issue.

The city has been proactive in preparing for areas a shutdown could impact the city.
Those employees that require a license, such a those who run the water treatment plant or police, were encouraged to make sure their licenses would not lapse during a possible shutdown.
