MANKATO (TEC News) – Detectives continue to investigate last week’s burglary of thousand of dollars worth of metal couplers from a business west of Mankato on Highway 169.

The break-in of storage units at F & N Equipment netted the thieves an estimated $13,000 worth of metal, female and male couplers.

Captain Rich Murry says area scrap yards were advised of the theft.

The theft happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. last Tuesday and 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Burglars were able to pry off lock latches to gain entry and steal the 200 couplers.

A Blue Earth County Sheriff’s report says they found two sets of shoe prints at the scene and they used a dolly to move the merchandise from the storage units to a vehicle.
