Judge Removed From Hearing Huettl Theft Case

MANKATO (TEC News) – The attorney for a Mankato woman charged with allegedly stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a former employer has asked to remove the judge assigned to the case.

Attorney Jim Fleming exercised his option to remove Judge Kurt Johnson from hearing the theft case of 65-year-old Mary Huettl. Fleming was not required to give a reason for the removal request.

The case was assigned to Judge Krista Jass.

Huettl, the wife of Mankato’s former public safety director, faces 16 counts of theft.
