ST. PETER (TEC News) --  A tree trimmer for a Twin Cities company was killed Thursday morning in a workplace accident northwest of St. Peter.

The Nicollet County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Murray Christopher Purdue of Minneapolis was killed while trimming a large branch on a tree. Investigators say Purdue was attached to the limb when it gave way and fell to the ground.

Purdue was employed by Davey Tree Service of Plymouth.

The fatal accident happened around 9:51 a.m. at a rural Lake Prairie Township residence.
