CLEVELAND – A local hero is coming home tomorrow. Army Specialist Jack Zimmerman of Cleveland is making his first visit home Friday since losing both legs last March after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan.
He’s currently rehabbing in Texas at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston Army Base in San Antonio.
When Zimmerman and his wife Megan fly into the Mankato airport tomorrow they’ll receive an escort to Cleveland. Local law enforcement and the Patriot Guard will participate.
