MANKATO (TEC News) – Prosecutors say Jennifer Nibbe confessed to shooting her husband James in the back of the head while he slept. The defense say the Lake Crystal woman’s confession should be tossed because she previously requested an attorney.
But the prosecution says Nibbe called detectives while in jail saying she wanted to talk. She also told them her son wasn’t involved.
Nibbe’s three-week murder trial has been scheduled to begin April 2, 2012 in Mankato.
Prosecutor Pat McDermott expects jury selection may be more difficult than the recent Joel Munt murder trial.
