Mankato Police Report Suspicious Vehicle Around Schools

MANKATO (TEC News) – Mankato police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a white van or SUV approaching children around area schools.

On Tuesday a black male driver and black female passenger asked children near Roosevelt Elementary if they wanted rides. This was similar to reports from two Fridays ago (Oct 14) when students were approach in the Copperfield subdivision near Rosa Parks Elementary.

Police are asking parents to give their children a safety reminder when it comes to dealing with strangers. Adults should remind children to walk in a group because there’s safety in numbers. And if approached by a stranger, children should get away quickly and tell a trusted adult.
