Mankato Police Briefing

MANKATO (TEC News) -- Here are a couple items from the Wednesday morning media briefing with Mankato police commanders.

Putting A LIDS On Counterfeit Bills
Mankato police are looking for the young male who tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a River Hills Mall business on Monday. A clerk at LIDS discovered the bill was fake because it had no watermarks in the paper. The clerk gave the phony bill back and the male left. Police say they plan to look at videotape to see if they can identify the suspect.

Art Theft From Apartment Building
Three pieces of art were stolen last week from the lobby of the downtown Walnut Towers. Two were a pair of 2' by 2' loon pieces from Terry Redlin. The third print was a 5' by 3' "fall landscape." Police say they turned up missing last Friday. Value of the art was not available.
