Mother Charged For Buying Son Brass Knuckles

MANKATO (TEC News) -- A mother is facing a dangerous weapons charge for buying her son brass knuckles after they were used in a fight last June in Mankato.

Mankato police were investigating an assault in the 100 block of Sioux Road when the victim said the 17-year-old he was fighting took his brass knuckles that he mother helped him buy on the internet.

Police then spoke with 40-year-old Marcie Mullin who believed it would be OK for her son to have the knuckles as long he didn't use them illegally.

Mullin allegedly told the investigation officer that she knew her son had the brass knuckles for about a year and admitted she knew they were probably illegal.

She's due in court for her arraignment December 29th on the misdemeanor charge.
