VIDEO -- North Mankato Girl Featured On American Idol

MANKATO (TEC News) – Mankato West senior Shelby Tweten made a splash on last night’s American Idol, earning a trip to Hollywood singing Carrie Underwood’s song “Temporary Home.”

Howevers some of the latest blogs who confirmed she made it to the Hollywood round and later to the "Sing for Your Life" round in Las Vegas also say she did not make it out of the round of 42 and into the Top 24.

The show featured Tweten and a segment filed locally that told her story of being bipolar and suffering from depression since she was in fourth grade. Tweten says she has hypomanic episodes and singing helps her.

Area Woman In Finals On TLC Reality Show
Tweten isn’t the only local reality TV star. Janesville-native Nadine Reibeling is one of the three finalist on TLC’s “Next Great Baker” show.

Reibeling lives and works in New York City.

The final episode will air next Monday night.
