MANKATO (TEC News) -- A Blue Earth County Sheriff Deputy was injured Wednesday night when he crashed his squad car while responding to the accident in LeHiller.Deputy Carl Mulder was driving down the Stadium Road hill when he lost control and ended up sliding off the road and into some trees.
"Roads were a little greasy," said Capt. Rich Murry. "They had some sand on them from previous icy conditions. So they were a little slippery and he lost control on a curve."
According to Murry, Mulder was later treated and released from MCHS Hospital in Mankato for injuries suffered in the crash.
Mulder has whiplash symptoms, a sprained wrist and aggravated a prior back injury.
The injuries have sidelined Mulder.
Murry says they believe the squad car was totaled.
