St. Peter (KMKO)-A two vehicle crash in St. Peter yesterday sent two people to the hospital.  According to the State Patrol, a car driven by 34 year old Karen Johnson rear-ended a van on Highway 169 on the north side of St. Peter just after 6:00 am.  A child in Johnson's vehicle was transported to the St. Peter hospital for treatment.  Officials say the child was not restrained in the vehicle.  Johnson, a native of Pocatello, Idaho, told investigators the collision occurred because she fell asleep at the wheel.  After the impact, the van hit a tree.  The driver of the van, 21 year old Adrianne Schmidt of LeSueur, was taken to the St. Peter Hospital with what appeared to be a wrist injury.  There were no passengers in the van.
