Mankato (KMKO)-The Mankato metro area was ranked 11th in Forbes Best Small Places for Business and Careers.  The June rankings had the Mankato area at 29th in education, number 59 in the cost of doing business and 81st in job growth.  Forbes considers 12 categories in compiling the list, such as job and income growth, costs, education, crime and recreational opportunities.  Mankato was ranked the highest among similar sized Minnesota cities, with Rochester coming in at number 39.  Sioux Falls, South Dakota was number one.
