Record Heat in Mankato

Mankato (KMKO)-There is some light at the end of the tunnel weather-wise, but it won't happen for a couple more days.  We set another record yesterday, with the thermometer reaching 96 degrees in Mankato.  That marks the third straight day of record-breaking heat for Mankato.  Cooler weather is expected this weekend, with some much-needed rain.  That raises concerns of flash flooding after this extended dry period. Another record could fall today.  The all-time high for this date is 87, set in 1999.
