GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Retired Minnesota Viking Jim Kleinsasser (KLYN'-sahs-ur) headlines this year's class of inductees into the University of North Dakota Letterwinners Athletics Hall of Fame.
Kleinsasser spent all 13 of his NFL seasons with the Vikings after being a second-round draft pick out of UND in 1999. He appeared in more games than any tight end in Vikings history. He retired after last season.
The Carrington native was a two-time NCAA Division II All America tight end while at UND in the late 1990s.
The 2012 class also includes John Christen, a tennis and wrestling standout in the 1980s, and Louise Ronnerman, a cross country and track star in the 1990s. UND's 1997 NCAA Division I champion men's hockey team also is being inducted. The ceremony is Sept. 29.
