FAIRMONT (August 15, 2012) – The “C” word is being discussed in the city of Fairmont.
Fairmont city ordinance currently bans all “animals wild in nature.” But it specifically doesn’t mention “chickens” by name.
A public hearing was held on Monday and the city council will vote on the issue August 27th.
A poll on the Fairmont newspaper’s website asking if the city should ban chickens as pets supports the fowl pets with 62% saying “no”, 34% saying “yes” and 4% saying they’re “not sure.”
