Mankato Crime Prevention Tips



MANKATO-August 16, 2012-(KMKO)-The Mankato Department of Public Safety is reminding residents about some common sense steps they can take to prevent crime.  Last month, 60% of residential burglaries and thefts happened because of unlocked doors. Keep all doors are locked, including walk-in garage doors, even when you're home.  48% of motor vehicle burglaries and thefts occurred because of unlocked vehicle doors and windows. Keep power cords for electronic devices and GPS mounts out of sight, because they indicate these items are hidden in a glove box or console.  You can get more tips online at ncpc.org.
