MANKATO-August 20, 2012-(KMKO)-Mission of Mercy was a huge success. The two day event sponsored by the Minnesota Dental Association provided free dental care to nearly 1,500 people. The mission took place Friday and Saturday on the convention center floor at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato.  It was made possible by 1,225 volunteer dentists, hygienists, translators and even 40 nuns.  It was geared toward people who have no dental insurance, are underinsured or cannot access health care. The first-ever event in Minnesota delivered over $1.3 million in dental care.
