MANKATO (August 20, 2012) – Blue Earth County Commissioners are being asked to consider a conditional use permit to operate a flour mill on a farm site west of Good Thunder.
 
The applicant is Rachel Hollerich and the owner is David Hollerich.
 
According to staff review, the flour milling operation at full capacity would make about 2,000 pounds a week of whole wheat flour and then be sold off site.
 
The mill, which is bigger than a standard dishwasher and makes as much noise as a vacuum cleaner, will be kept in a trailer.
 
County staff recommends approval of the conditional use permit.
