MANKATO-August 28, 2012-(KMKO)-Mankato’s Night to Unite will be held this evening.  The annual event is an opportunity for neighbors to get together for a party and talk about ways to make their neighborhoods safer.   Mankato residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and city staff.   Three locations will receive their certification as crime-free multi-housing properties this evening: Downtowners Apartments, Washington Park at 215 North Fourth Street, Park Place Townhomes at 281 Butterworth Street and Steve and Avis Woehrle at 102 South Fifth Street.  Once these properties are certified, Mankato will have 13 properties in the program.
