MANKATO August 27, 2012 – Come December the city council, school board and Region Nine will have new chambers and the school district will have a more place for centralized registration.
 
The council has approved going ahead with plans to build new council chambers and a meeting room in the atrium of Mankato Place with the remodeling of the existing council room for the school district.
 
The district will lease the space. Cost of the new council chambers and meeting room is over $466,000 and nearly $148,000 for the new district space.
 
The council chambers and meeting room will be done first with the school space second. It should be all done sometime in December.
