ST. PAUL-September 11, 2012-(KMKO)-City officials have received some disappointing news concerning Mankato's $14.5 million request for state funds for the civic center expansion project. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's Capital Projects Grants Program has ranked the city's request 17th out of the 90 applications. The projects scoring higher have a total of nearly $100 million, which is far more than the $47.5 million available.
