MANKATO-October 2, 2012-(KMKO)—West High School’s football team has taken a hard hit. Ken Essay, activities director, took full responsibility for an error made involving an ineligible student. The department was unaware until recently, but Essay stepped forward and reported the mistake to the Minnesota State High School League. West will forfeit the first four games of the season, making their record 0-5. Three conference games remain in the West High School Scarlets' football season: Rochester Mayo, Rochester Century and East High School.
