MANKATO-October 18, 2012-(KMKO)-Drivers trying to shorten their trip to the new stretch of Highway 14 near North Mankato are creating unsafe driving conditions.  It's illegal to drive through the median to access Highway 14.  It's also dangerous because Highway 14 traffic is not expecting vehicles to go around the barriers and they can't see vehicles entering.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation has asked State Patrol to increase patrols in the area.
