Kindergartners for literacy

MANKATO-November 21, 2012-(KMKO)-A mass of kindergartners will be taking over Minnesota State University, Mankato's Centennial Student Union Ballroom next week. 251 students will attend Literacy Day from 9 to 11:45 a.m. as part of an MSU block one education majors' course. Literacy Day is held as a service to local elementary students, who have limited funds for field trips and allows practice for the education majors. It is intended as an opportunity for Minnesota State Mankato pre-service teachers to connect literacy instruction to those local students.
