eReaders Not As Popular As You Might Think (SND)
Randall Harder Reporting
MANKATO (TEC News) – Technology is impacting libraries. For example, eReaders will never go away, yet make up only 2.5 percent of a library’s current circulation. Library director Tim Hayes equates it to when they made the switch form VHS to DVD.
Hayes says when it comes to eBooks, some publishes won’t sell to a library at all, some will charge 2 to 3 times as much, while some may make him re-buy the book after so many checkouts.
