MANKATO (TEC News) – An Albert Lea man pled guilty to aggravated robbery yesterday. 18-year-old Emmanuel Dak Wal entered a guilty plea to his first count of aggravated robbery to have his second count dismissed. The restitution is to be shared with two juvenile co-defendants. Wal said he was on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus on Jan. 27 at around 4:30 a.m. He said the three of them involved pulled the car over and presented a short-barreled shotgun. He said he took a wallet and some phones from other individuals. The victims dropped the items on the ground. Wal picked them up and drove off, he said. There was an investigation into the vehicle after the incident, and Wal was picked up some time after that. The shotgun was not recovered. His sentencing is set for July 1.
