MANKATO (TEC News) - A 40-hour training class will soon be on the agenda for the Mankato Department of Public Safety and mental health professionals. The course is taught by professionals from Houston, Texas Police Department's mental health unit training section. Consumers will be invited to speak with class attendees about their mental health experiences. It's planned to recruit local mental health professionals to assist as needed in role-play scenarios. School and Mankato are mental health professionals are being invited to participate in the training because city staff is looking at the opportunity to create a volunteer community critical incident response team.
