MANKATO (TEC News) - The Click it or Ticket Spring Campaign released preliminary numbers yesterday for the state of Minnesota. Out of the 1783 citations issued, 214 were in the Mankato/Greater Mankato area and 168 were given warnings. We spoke with Sgt. Jackie Sticha with the Minnesota State Patrol yesterday and she says that being belted is a top priority not only for adults, but for children: Sticha 31 "very seriously" :17 ["If everything stays the same, the one tool against our biggest threat for life and limb is wearing seat belts, wearing them properly and making sure our children are properly restrained in our vehicles; whether it requires a booster or child restraint. This is something we have to take very seriously."]
More numbers will be released mid month. Sticha says they are expected to rise.
