MINNEAPOLIS (TEC News), September 20 – The University of Minnesota will be hosting a virtual food donation to kick off their homecoming events. Second Harvest and the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council approached the U of M with the idea after the decision to donate $30,000 to feed 25,000 families across the state. The organizations are just asking U of M students to be Five-Minute Farmers. On Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Coffman Memorial Union, students are asked to engage in a five-minute conversation with farmers about agriculture and their role. After, they’ll snap a photo with them and upload it to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #5MinuteFarmer. The organizations a greed to feed five families per photo uploaded.
