Greater Mankato Leadership Institute Celebrates 30 Years with Volunteering

MANKATO (TEC News), December 18 – To celebrate their 30th year, the Greater Mankato Leadership Institute will be volunteering in service projects around the community today from 1 to 3 p.m.
“We’re proud to be the area’s only comprehensive Leadership program with a strong community focus,” said Jonathan Zierdt, President & CEO of Greater Mankato Growth. “This is a great opportunity for our future leaders to grow their skills in a hands-on setting.”
At this year’s community service day, teams of Leadership Institute participants will volunteer at:
  • ECHO Food Shelf, 1014 South Front Street, Unpack food, sort, work with clients, etc.
  • Partners for Affordable Housing, Theresa House, 422 South Broad Street, Bake cookies for kids to decorate
  • Holiday Sharing Tree, Mankato Armory, Assist with gift distribution
  • MRCI Thrift Store, 111 Sioux Road, Take donations, put items out for sale, assist with check-out
  • Ecumen Pathstone Living, 718 Mound Avenue, Assist residents with making Christmas decorations
  • Salvation Army, Cub West, HyVee Downtown & Hilltop, Shopko; Bell ringin
