Drug Kills Two: Public Safety in Search of the Source

MANKATO (TEC News), March 12 – Two are dead after ingesting what public safety officials say is some type of synthetic powder. A 22-year-old male and 17-year-old female were transported in two different incidents. Public Safety Director Todd Miller says that while they’re not positive of a connection, officers found a 2 by 2.5 inch blue baggie with crowns on it at each scene containing a synthetic powder. He’s asking that anyone who may be in possession or knows where this may be to call 911 immediately to aid in the investigation. “We are concerned that there may be more of this potentially deadly substance out there and ask that anyone with knowledge of this substance contact the Mankato Dept. of Public Safety immediately by dialing 911.” Through investigation, anyone found to sell or provide this substance to another person, and if that person dies, could be charged with homicide. A photo of the blue bag can be found at or one of our social media outlets.
