Johnson Promotes Bill to Aid in Neuroleptic Med Prescriptions

ST. PETER (TEC News), March 28 – Neuroleptic medication, used to bring a patient into a calm state, is currently unable to be provided to patients at the security hospital unless approved by the courts they were committed by. Problems arose when severely mentally ill patients needed this immediately. Representative Clark Johnson hopes to pass a bill to speed up the process in these situations. “If that situation happens then the doctors at the security hospital would have the authority to provide medication for 14 days.” Johnson then said they would continue the process through the courts to continue medication after that.
