Man Calls Mankato Police After Hooker Steals His Cash
Randall Harder Reporting
MANKATO -- It's what didn't happen that landed a man and woman in jail early Wednesday morning in Mankato.
Police say they received a call from 26-year-old Faisal Alshihry of Mankato to report a theft.
When police arrived at the Super 8 Motel along Highway 169 at 2:15 a.m. they discovered Alshihry had arranged to meet a woman at the motel for sex.
But she dashed with the $200 without completing the agreeded upon transaction.
Police received a description of the woman's vehicle and St. Peter Police pulled over a white Humvee and took the suspect, 28-year-old Natalie Gunaseelan of St. Paul into custody.
Another unidentified person in the vehicle was not detained.
Gunaseelan was held on a charge of engaging in prostitution, while Alshihry was held for solicitation. Both were also held on charges of disorderly conduct, when Gunaseelan was also cited by Mankato police under a city ordinance for not obtaining a peddlars permit.
