MANKATO – On a unanimous vote, the Mankato City Council is moving forward with a plan to renovate the existing Public Safety Center.
The building will remain home to Mankato Police, but it will also become home to Mankato Fire with the addition of fire truck bays and a training tower.

The city council also approved a plan to look for land in the Augusta Drive area for a new, neighborhood firehouse.
This smaller fire station would be built following the completion of the Public Safety Center renovation. It would serve the growing northeast sector of Mankato.
