MANKATO – A red folder containing photos of child pornography was just one of the items seized during the search of a Mankato trailer last Saturday morning.
61-year-old Rodney Oberg and 51-year-old Jeremy Wolfe (far left), both of Mankato, face multiple counts of possession of child pornography. Oberg faces an addition three counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old boy.
Search warrants executed inside Eastwood Manor Mobile Home Park at 147 Lynn Lane show investigators also seized two computer towers, one laptop, and 37 DVDs, 11 of which was in a locked cabinet. Also seized were a digital camera, video camera and several CDs.
According to the search warrant application, Mankato Police first took a report that Oberg had possibly shown a juvenile pornographic images on Monday, April 4th.
But it wasn’t until parents of children in the Eastwood Manor started threatening Oberg on Friday, April 8th that authorities responded for what was described on incident reports as a “disturbance.”
Police say both Oberg and Wolfe agreed to be interviewed about the allegations at the Public Safety Center by investigators. Authorities say Oberg admitted it was possible children may have viewed the porn outside his presence. Wolfe, according to investigators, stated his life was over and that he just as well talk. Investigators say Wolfe admitted to having images of child porn and that he mostly liked to look at boys.
The search warrant also confirms what several parents told Three Eagles News that Oberg had another house. The search warrant describes it “by a Madison Lake.” Parents told us it was near Elysian.
It’s unknown if a search warrant was executed at that location.
A boy told investigators he had been with Oberg to that location.
