Pedestrian OK After Being Struck By Vehicle In Mankato

MANKATO – A teenager is OK after she was struck by a car crossing Riverfront Drive Tuesday afternoon near Mankato West High School.
But police say both the pedestrian, 18-year-old Alissa Kruger and the driver of the vehicle, 16-year-old Aryel Boney share blame in the accident.
Mankato police say Kruger had already crossed Riverfront Drive towards the Cub Foods parking lot against the light. She was standing in the center median when she was given the walk signal and continued to cross.
The vehicle driven by Boney was turning onto Riverfront from Stoltzman Road and struck Kruger in the cross walk.
Boney told officer she did not see Kruger and was unable to stop when she did see her.
Kruger received minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
No citations were issued to either Kruger or Boney.
“Both should have been paying more attention,” said Mankato DPS Commander Jeremy Clifton.
