$200,000 Bail Set For Mankato Man Nabbed In Cocaine Bust

MANKATO – An informant’s purchase of $100 of cocaine from a Mankato man led to a drug task force discovery of a larger stash of coke at his home.

An undercover drug task force agent drove a confidential informant to purchase crack cocaine from a dealer named “Frank.”

In preparing for the sting, agents were able to identify “Frank” as 20-year-old Stanley Broussard of Mankato.

Broussard was arrested by task force agents following last Wednesday’s controlled purchase. Agents were monitoring Broussard as he left his home at 117 1/2 Hanover Street.

Following the purchase, agents went to the home where a tenant at the address consented to a search. Inside, court records say they found 29 grams of cocaine in a bag that belonged to Broussard.

He faces two 1st degree felony counts for possession of 25 grams or more of cocaine. He also faces felony counts of 2nd degree drug possession and 3rd degree drug sale.

Conditional bail for Broussard was set at $200,000.
