Popular ESPN Anchor Dead at 61

Sports fans will be missing a beloved face this fall — ESPN anchor John Saunders has died suddenly. He was 61.  Saunders, who’d been with the network for nearly 30 years, was perhaps best known for covering college football. He was also the moderator of the Sunday morning debate program The Sports Reporters.  After the death of former basketball coach and color commentator Jim Valvano, Saunders was a founding member of The V Foundation for Cancer Research.  There’s been no word on a cause of death.  http://espn.com
