Wells Police say the operation was conducted Friday, with the assistance of the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and Rochester Police.

Arrested on suspicion of prostitution in a public place were were Jianwu Zeng of Mankato and Ricky Speltz of Altura. They were booked into the Faribault County Jail and later released. Formal charges against Zeng and Speltz are expected this week.

There was also a prostitution sting earlier this week in Rochester with three arrests, including that of a police officer. Taken into custody were 32-year-old  Rolando Hermoso of Owatonna, 26-year-old Gary Stittgen of Rochester and 42-year-old Jeremy Newton of Byron.

Newton is said to be a part-time police officer in Saint Charles, while authorities say Stittgen broke his ankle when he tried to escape by jumping over a second-floor railing at the motel where the sting was conducted.
